Legal Affairs Department of Somali National University

Our Legal Services Division provides legal advice to the University’s Institutions, Faculties, Departments, Board of Directors, the Rector and all authorized administration.

We work closely with members of the University to develop and review University regulations, policies and procedures. The Office also initiates legal action to forestall problems, and represents the University in all activities, transactions, contracts and judicial proceedings that might occurs, we also raise awareness of legal issues relevant to the University.

Mission Statement

Our mission is to educate the University community as to the laws applicable to the University’s operations, to solve legal problems and facilitate transactions, to provide advice and counsel to foster sound decision-making and to provide legal representation in overall university activities.

Vision Statement

To provide counsel to minimize legal risks, reduce litigation exposure, and ensure legal compliance, and to do expeditiously, reliably, and professionally.

All these activities create the workflow of Legal department. and, main functions of legal department are following

• Prosecution of cases in courts and litigation management
• Documentation preparation and drafting
